Closely related to safelists are a new breed of email advertising referred to as text ad exchanges. The differences between these and safelists are not many and can easily be missed. In fact one of my favorite text ad exchanges refers to itself as a safelist and is called My Free Safelist.
It is these text ad exchanges that gave me a renewed interest in using safelists as I had not been getting a good response with safelists previously. After I returned to using safelists, in particularly credit based safelists (mailers) I started to get results. Text ad exchanges are based after these credit based safelists.

One difference between text ad exchanges and safelists is that text ad exchanges put a limit on the number of emails that are distributed each day to the reader. Once placing your “solo ad” you may have to wait from a few days to a couple of weeks for it to run. This makes your ad less likely to get overlooked and therefore it should get a higher response than with traditional safelists.

This is a post that is not in a category that I usually would have at a blog such as this but Rich’s story has led me to add fundraising and fundraisers as categories in this blog.
Rich Strayer is a friend of mine and my upline in one of my network marketing companies. I have learned a lot from Rich over the years about building an online business. I have recently received the following information from Rich about a disease that he was diagnosed with earlier this year.
WHAT IS ALS?
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), sometimes called Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a rapidly progressive, invariably fatal neurological disease that attacks the nerve cells (neurons) responsible for controlling voluntary muscles. It is not contagious.
Eventually, all muscles under voluntary control are affected, and patients lose their strength and the ability to move their arms, legs, and body. When muscles in the diaphragm and chest wall fail, patients lose the ability to breathe without ventilatory support. Most people with ALS die from respiratory failure, usually within 3 to 5 years from the onset of symptoms. However, about 10 percent of ALS patients survive for 10 or more years.
Because ALS affects only motor neurons, the disease does not impair a person’s mind, personality, intelligence, or memory. Nor does it affect a person’s ability to see, smell, taste, hear, or recognize touch.
Rich was diagnosed with ALS in January this year. Please continue to pray for us as we walk this journey. The chapter provides several support services and equipment through a loan closet. They have provided us a wheelchair, recliner lift chair and other equipment at no cost. Although the address to Opportunity Assistance has always been http://www.opportunityassistance.com it had been re-directing to http://www.opportunityassistance.com/news2 for quite some time. For that reason I think I lost a great deal of ranking in the search engines.
Hopefully, now that there is no re-direct I can start making this blog driven site what it was meant to be and that it will rank better in the search engines.
